Musical Peaks, Part VI

The Deep Musical Web

If I had to pick the best musical discovery, as in a source of new music, of the recent years I’d have to say Musicovery. It’s a webradio service, so basically radio inside a browser window, except you get to pick the mood of the music you want to listen to using their ‘Mood Pad’, and you can further specify the musical style(s) and the tempo as well. Really sweet!

Other than that, 2010 has been a musically reviving year, solely due to several musical souls at Deep Spirits, but most of all my friend Dermot. Not only has he introduced me to a number of beautiful songs I hadn’t heard before, but I’ve come to rely on his occasional music sessions in form of musical forum topics. Sometimes themed, sometimes not. Sometimes uplifting, but mostly nostalgic and beautiful.
We all add music to the forum, open new topics or contribute to the existing ones, but if there ever was a reliable music lover, it is Dermot.
Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, and Antony and the Johnsons are now purely associated with him, even though I had previous associations with the first two.
