Choice

I would rather try my way and lose,
be judged by the whole world,
lose precious contacts and sympathies,
or even die -
however you may define this non-existent 'losing',
than to follow advice based on fearful compliance and the pretense of decency,
such that would shine brightly only on the surface
but be dark and dreadful below it.
